I grew up a church boy my whole life. I tell people I've been attending church since I was in my momma's womb. Once, I pulled a fire alarm at church when I was around three years old. Another time I took a nap during a church service underneath the seats. I've done it all. But just because I went to church my whole life, it didn't mean I was experiencing the fullness that Jesus wanted me to.

You can call yourself a car and sit inside a garage for 8 hours a day, but just because you sit in that garage, it doesn't make you a car. Going to church for a long time created a stagnant heart for me. I heard everything there was to hear (or so I thought). What else was there for me to experience?

It wasn't until the summer of 2017 that God supernaturally changed my life. You heard that right. I was a Christian for 19 years before my life really changed. Many others are living the Christian life just like how I was. All that there is to their "faith" is going to church, praying, and being able to call themselves a "Christian." But is there any power?

Leading up to that summer that forever changed my life, I would have these sensations I had never experienced. Although I was a church boy, during high school, I didn't put the things of God first. I did what I wanted to do, hung out with whomever I wanted to hang out with, and listened to whatever I wanted to listen to. By the grace of God, I never partook in alcohol or drugs, but I did hang out with those who did.

After high school, I wasn't planning on attending college until an opportunity came up at my home church. I went on to attend a leadership school and finally started taking my walk with the Lord seriously. During these few years, that sensation began to appear in my life. The only way that I can put it into words is that I felt like I was going to EXPLODE. Whenever I would put on worship music or read my Bible, I felt like my body would burst because of my excitement. I kept searching and searching for the reason for this feeling and asking God to reveal to me what this was.

Then summer of 2017 came. I was involved in a young adult camp and that excitement was rising up on the inside of me again, and finally, it was as if the cap of a soda bottle burst open because of the amount of pressure built up inside. The Lord showed me that I was experiencing this feeling was the baptism and power of the Holy Spirit trying to come out of me! It was life-changing.

I knew there was more to life, and I had a hard time discovering it until this point. Nothing has ever been the same after the Lord supernaturally changed my life. In this same season, I met my beautiful wife, started a family, started our ever-growing church, Deep Rooted Church, and so many more things. The Lord has revealed His Word to me like I've never seen before, and because of it, I've experienced the abundant life that Jesus came to give us (John 10:10).

My goal and mission in life are to reach people who know there is more to life than what they're currently experiencing, especially if you are a born-again believer. Come on this journey with me and discover the abundant life Jesus came to give you.

Live in the victory,
